your big day
Yay!
I'm ecstatic for you! This guide is packed with helpful tips
that is aimed to assist you throughout the entire process of
your wedding planning. My goal is to be so much more than
your photographer. I'd love for you to consider me your
friend because we'll be spending a lot of time together on
your wedding day! Over the years, I've picked up a few
tricks that will help me ensure that your images are simply
stunning since you deserve nothing less. Allow me to give
you the lowdown on what you may expect.
Example timeline
This is just an example timeline that can be chopped and changed to your needs with a few tips and tricks with weddings that I've learned from 2016 up to now.
12:00 - 12:50

GROOM & PARTY
Please make sure the gents are ready and dressed when I arrive. I usually start with the groom's details shot. This includes his tie, jacket, aftershave, shoes, socks, and belt. Be sure your getting-ready location has natural light and enough space
13:00 - 14:20

BRIDE & PARTY
Have fewer people in your room while you get ready. Inform your hair and makeup artists when to be finished. Be sure your getting-ready location has natural light and enough space
14:30 - 15:30

CEREMONY & CONFETTI
Please ask the MC to announce that no phones are allowed during the ceremony (the reason for this is, with my personal wedding, all my photos had Oom Faan in the back with his camera phone in the aisle). A group photo after the ceremony is always a good idea
15:30 - 16:00

CANAPES & DECOR
Whew! The stressful part is over, and you can't think straight. Grab a bite to eat, mingle, and greet. I will quickly slip away to do some decor & location shots, and I'll be back right before you do a champagne tower/cake cutting
16:00 - 17:00

FAMILY & BRIDAL PARTY
Set up a family photo list and ask the MC to announce who is next.
Every family situation is different. Please prepare a list of family combinations that you want to be photographed.
17:00 - 18:30

COUPLE PHOTOS (SUNSET)
I always recommend doing the couple shoot at sunset.
Send me all your inspo so we can create your perfect day
18:30

COUPLE ENTER RECEPTION
Please let me know if you have anything planned for your entrance such as confetti, sparkles, champagne etc.
18:30 - 21:00

RECEPTION COVERAGE
Please be sure that there is a chair for me to just put my things down and for my feet to take a break during dinner.
Here are the usual reception events:
- grand entrance
- toasts
- first dance
- parent dances
- bouquet toss
- garter toss
- cake cutting
extra things out of the ordinary
- Exchange your engagement shoot for a Friday get together with friends and having a few photos of everyone before the wedding, as well as a mini couple flash shoot
- Doing a ribbon wrapping ceremony - where everyone dear and near has the opportunity to come forward and wrap the bridal couple's hands with ribbons
- Planting a tree after the ceremony at the venue - giving back to nature (photographed a wedding at Mina's doing this and I LOVED it!)
- Skipping the Bouquet toss and giving it to the mother of the bride
- Disappearing during your reception to get a champagne shot.
- Dress change during reception
